This does not update and you can put it anywhere you like next to the alert map but not on the map it might block alerts from showing up in that location. We supply the color key (map legend) to the map so when the alert plots out on the map it will be in color showing that alert.
We would need your ftp information to send this map in to your site. The map is overwritten each time it updates with the alerts, so any changes the map will ftp it to your site within seconds. When a weather alert is issued from the National Weather Service it will plot the watch or warning on the map, and when the alert is canceled or expires it will take itself off within seconds. The Weather Alert map updates 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
